Joell is a quirky, authentic, down-to-earth, and unafraid of her own humanity. She is relatable and easy to talk to, creating a grace-filled and supportive experience. She is versatile and adaptable to individual needs, style, and personality. Most of all, Joell absolutely adores other humans and the opportunity to walk alongside their healing.
Joell has had the opportunity to work in a variety of treasured environments and experiences. She has a background working as both a therapist and administrator in inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, family workshops, and family of origin trauma intensives. Joell has worked with a variety of populations including addiction (substances, sex, gambling, etc.), anxiety, depression, pregnancy/postpartum and women's health, trauma, relationships, and attachment wounds.
Joell began her therapeutic training at The Meadows, a world-renown treatment facility. There she learned to conceptualize based on attachment through Pia Mellody's work and look at all struggles through the lens of trauma and root cause exploration. Joell was able to be trained by Pia Mellody herself and experienced consultations with many experts including Peter Levine, Dr. Kevin McCauley, Stephanie Carnes, and Patrick Carnes.
Joell has training in Certified Sex Addiction Therapy (CSAT), Perinatal Mental Health (PMH), EMDR, Brainspotting, and Post Induction Therapy (PIT). Joell uses a blend of attachment and trauma-focused therapy, somatic interventions, motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Joell will also incorporate experiential and narrative interventions.
Joell decided to become a therapist after her own healing journey where she experienced the beauty of being seen, heard, and loved without expectations attached.
In her free time, Joell loves spending time with her family and friends, connecting with her spirituality and nature, acting like a goofball, enjoying the beauty of healing through dance and movement, good hikes, new experiences, and adventures.
